WHAT : A Pune Artists group is presenting ‘Pride Stories With Live Painting’, to celebrate LIFE and an inclusive society. They are celebrating the Supreme Court judgement of partial striking down of Article 377 – a controversial British era law. To rejoice this judgement, three story tellers  – Niki Ray, Deepesh Chandran and Kakoli Bagchi will narrate stories, while world renowned painter Sandeep Sinha will simulatenously paint as the stories are narrated.

“The ban was irrational, indefensible and manifestly arbitrary”, said the judges. ‘Take me as I am’, another Judge said. “History owes an apology to the LGBT community. They were made to live a life full of fear”.

Sandeep Sinha is an IT professional and Art is his passion.  An abstract painter, he holds Limca Book of Records, India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records for his painting. As colors flow into a rhythm he flows with them. With colors and creations Sandeep tries to connect with the cosmic energy – which is nothing but the subconscious state of mind. All his paintings reflect nature, landscapes and heavenly compositions by God.

Niki Ray is a solo performer, comedian, story teller, creator, counselor and mental health worker. She will have you in splits with an array of accents  and sit down comedy based on everyday life. Niki runs an NGO – a support group for LGBT women –‘Rim Jhim ek Anubhav’

Deepesh Chandran is an IT professional, based in Pune. He is a passionate story teller, performing at cafes, school literature festivals, NGOs since last four years. Narrating stories to the underprivileged children gives him the highest satisfaction as a story teller.

Kakoli Bagchi started her journey as a story teller from Pagdandi Cafe, four years ago. A former Chemistry lecturer in a local college, she took up story telling, to initiate people to come out into physical spaces, away from the virtual world and listen to stories to inculcate  the reading habit which seems to be a dying art.
