President of India to deliver a memorial lecture in honour of late Shri Arjun Singh

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee will deliver a memorial lecture in honour of late Shri Arjun Singh, former Union Minister on April 9, 2016 at Nehru Memorial Museum Auditorium, Teen Murti, New Delhi.

The memorial lecture is being organized by The Arjun Singh Sadbhavana Foundation which was set up in February 2016, five years after passing away of Shri Arjun Singh. During the course of his five decades of public service, Shri Arjun Singh championed many socio – economic causes such as women’s empowerment, education of the girl child and upliftment of the weaker sections of society and tribals. The Trust aims to work for an inclusive society and fulfill Shri Singh’s dream of making the world a better place to live in. Its areas of focus include gender sensitization, women’s empowerment and literacy and economic independence among the tribals, the poor and the needy.

The Trust has been established by Shri Arjun Singh’s daughter, Smt. Veena Singh. Shri Moti Lal Vora, Mrs. Mohsina Kidwai, Shri Kamal Nath, Shri Digvijay Singh, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia and spouse of Shri Arjun Singh, Mrs. Saroj Kumari are the Trustees.
