Pregnant Woman Injured in Hit-and-Run Incident Raises Alarm for Traffic Safety

Mhalunge, 10th June 2024: In a shocking turn of events in Pune’s Nighoj area, a pregnant woman identified as Shraddha Yelwande fell victim to a hit-and-run involving a white Swift car. The harrowing incident, which unfolded on the evening of Saturday, June 8, was captured on surveillance cameras and has left many spectators deeply unsettled.

Shraddha Yelwande was strolling along the left side of the Dehu-Nighoj road around 5 p.m. when a speeding car struck her from behind, propelling her into the air. Despite the severity of the impact, it has been confirmed that her unborn baby emerged unscathed.

The Mahalunge police of Pimpri-Chinchwad have taken charge of the investigation into the incident. The driver responsible for the hit-and-run callously fled the scene without extending aid to Yelwande, who was promptly rushed to the hospital for medical attention. A case has been lodged against the unidentified driver at the Mhalunge police station, and efforts are underway to track down the perpetrator.
