New Delhi, 29th June 2024: German automaker Porsche has initiated a worldwide recall of all Taycan models manufactured in 2020, citing concerns over a front brake hose defect. Despite the recall, Porsche reassures owners that affected vehicles remain safe to drive under certain conditions.

The recall comes in response to the discovery of cracks in the front brake hose of some Taycan cars, leading to potential leaks of brake fluid. This issue compromises brake pressure and system functionality, triggering a warning light on the dashboard in affected vehicles.

Kevin Geek, Project Manager for the Porsche Taycan, explained that internal quality checks identified these deficiencies, prompting the proactive recall. Porsche plans to optimize the front axle brake hose, considering redesigns that incorporate breaking points and new kinematics to prevent future failures.

Owners encountering the warning light are advised to promptly schedule a visit to their dealership for inspection and necessary repairs. Porsche emphasizes that vehicles displaying a red warning light should cease operation immediately and contact the manufacturer directly.

Porsche has committed to replacing faulty brake hoses at no cost to customers, ensuring a hassle-free solution for affected Taycan models. The company has disclosed that less than 1% of all Taycan vehicles globally have been affected by this issue.

“We are taking decisive steps to address this matter swiftly and comprehensively,” remarked Kevin Geek. “Our priority is to uphold the highest standards of safety and performance for our customers.”

Affected Taycan owners are encouraged to contact their nearest Porsche dealership for further instructions on rectifying the brake hose issue.
