Mumbai, 17 November 2022: Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha upset seventh seeded Frenchman Arthur Weber 6-4 7-6(5) To enter the singles quarterfinals of the 25K MSLTA Mumbai Open Tennis Championships being organised by MSLTA and played on their tennis courts at the GA Ranade Tennis Center
Three other Indians Siddarth Rawat , Digvijay Pratap Singh , Siddarth Vishwakarma also made it the last eight of the event
Sixth seeded Sidharth Rawat stopped Bharath Nishok Kumaran 6-4 6-2 in straight sets . Digvijay Pratap Singh who won the Delhi ITF event three weeks ago scraped past Russian Ivan Denison 2-6 6-4 7-6(3) in the longest match of the day
In another all Indian encounter Siddharth Vishwakarma stopped the winning run of qual Faisal Qamar securing a 6-1 6-2
In another upset Japanese youngster Ryuki Matsuda toppled eighth seeded Russian BekhanAtlangeriev 4-6 6-2 6-3 to make the last eight stage
In the doubles quarter final Indian pair of Faisal Qamar and Nitin Kumar Sinha Upset fourth seeded Russian pair of Bekhan Atlangeriev and Ivan Denisov 6-2 6-4
