Police Constable Assaulted During Traffic Dispute On Pune-Bengaluru Highway; Three Arrested

Karad, 19th April 2025: A police constable was assaulted in broad daylight near Dhebewadi Phata on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway following a dispute with a motorist over moving a car slightly backward. The incident has resulted in the arrest of three individuals, while a case has been registered against four, including the driver and his wife.
According to the complaint filed by Police Constable Brahmanand Mane at Karad City Police Station, the altercation occurred when a police van was attempting to cross the road and a car, driven by Shubham Arun Bhosale of Kolhapur, was blocking the way. Despite being asked by police to move the car back slightly, Bhosale stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road and got out, allegedly confronting Constable Mane before slapping him.
As Mane attempted to re-enter the police van, Bhosale’s wife, along with Tanvir Nazaruddin Mulla (40) and Javed Mahamand Inamdar (34), both residents of Mhasoli in Karad, allegedly pulled him out, twisted his arm, and knocked him to the ground. The group then reportedly beat him on the head, ears, and arms, causing injuries and obstructing him from carrying out his official duties.
Following the assault, a case was registered against all four under charges of assaulting a public servant and preventing a government official from discharging duty. Three of the accused have been taken into custody. Assistant Police Inspector Waghmode is leading the ongoing investigation.
