Wanowrie, 20th January 2024: A shop owner at KPCT Mall in Wanowrie has raised concerns over an alleged error in the confiscation notice issued by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Dharmendra Verma, the shop owner, claims that the information on the notice does not match his details.

According to Verma, the owner and joint owner details mentioned on the notice are entirely different from his own. Moreover, the address specified on the notice mentions “Shop No 35, A, B, C wing,” with the wing designation being unclear. Verma emphasizes that his shop is located in Wing C of the mall, and the tax for his shop is up to date.

Expressing the impact of the incorrect notice, Verma states that his tenant, who operates a multinational company’s office in the shop, has decided to vacate the premises by the end of the month. He questions whether the PMC will compensate him for the losses incurred due to this situation.

Verma highlights that a similar incident occurred in 2022 when the PMC erroneously pasted a notice. Following his complaint, the PMC acknowledged the mistake and instructed him to remove the notice. However, a confiscation notice has been issued again, causing further frustration for the shop owner. The notice in question was reportedly pasted on December 6, 2023, and Verma seeks clarification and resolution from the PMC to rectify the situation promptly.
