Pink E-Rickshaw Scheme Launched to Empower Women in Pune; Applications Open Now

Pune, 27th September 2024: Applications are now open for the Pink E-Rickshaw Allotment Scheme, launched by the Department of Women and Child Development to empower women by promoting self-reliance and employment generation.

Preference will be given to widows, legally divorced women, residents of state homes, orphaned girls, beneficiaries of Government Aftercare Houses, grandmothers in children’s homes, and women below the poverty line.

Under this scheme, qualifying women will receive 70% of the e-rickshaw price as a bank loan, with the state government covering 20% of the cost. Beneficiary women will contribute the remaining 10%.

Eligible women, aged 20 to 40, with an annual income not exceeding ₹3 lakh, are encouraged to apply online through the Nari Shakti Dut app.

District Women and Child Development Officer Monika Randhave mentioned that application samples and information on required documents are available at the office of the District Women and Child Development Officer.
