Pimpri Chinchwad, 8th August 2024: In a bid to ensure the accuracy of the ongoing survey of new, increased, and change-of-use properties in the city, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced stringent measures to monitor the work conducted by a private organization. The municipal team will cross-check the survey results to identify any discrepancies, with strict action to be taken against the organization if inaccuracies are found. This initiative aims to prevent property tax evasion.

Currently, Pimpri-Chinchwad has 630,000 registered properties. However, an estimated 200,000 properties remain unregistered, overcrowded, or have undergone a change of use. Previous property surveys in the city have failed to identify the expected number of new properties, prompting the administration to adopt sophisticated drone technology for the current survey. The survey is being conducted by Architectural Consultant Pvt. Ltd., with immediate notices issued to property owners identified in the process.

Property owners have the opportunity to raise objections and suggestions to resolve any doubts. The Tax Collection and Taxation Department will verify whether the survey has been conducted accurately. This inspection will involve a random selection of properties across the city.

Inspection Criteria:

– Proper numbering of assets by the organization
– Accurate capture of internal measurements and usage information
– Identification of any omitted properties

Inspection by a Three-Member Team:

Post-survey, a team comprising an Assistant Divisional Officer, a Clerk, and the Chief Clerk of the Divisional Office will conduct an internal inspection of the properties. This team will be responsible for inspecting properties in all divisional offices, not just the original ones.

Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh emphasized the importance of an accurate property survey. He stated that the administration would conduct its inspection after the organization’s survey. Singh also warned that any negligence by municipal officials and employees in ensuring survey accuracy would result in disciplinary action.
