Pimpri Chinchwad Police Register Case Against Woman for Coercing Another into Prostitution in Hinjawadi

Hinjawadi, 30th September 2024: A woman was arrested for allegedly coercing another woman into prostitution for financial gain. The Pimpri Chinchwad Police registered a case against her following an operation conducted by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) on 27th September at Laxmi Chowk in Hinjawadi.

Police Constable Sunil Shirsath reported the incident to the Hinjawadi Police Station. A case has been registered against a 30-year-old woman under Section 143(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for human trafficking, along with the relevant sections of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

According to police reports, the accused lured another woman with the promise of money and coerced her into prostitution. The accused herself earned a living from this illegal activity. After receiving information, the AHTU raided the location and arrested the accused. Assistant Police Inspector Jadhav from the Hinjawadi Police Station is investigating the matter further.
