Pimpri Chinchwad Police Collect Rs 29.7 Lakh Fine From Bullet Riders For Replacing Silencers

Pimpri-Chinchwad, February 19, 2021: Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash has ordered action against those who have changed the silencer of Bullet motorcycles. Accordingly, the traffic branch has launched a crackdown.

In the last four months, the traffic police have taken action against 2,970 bullet riders and collected fines of Rs 29.70 lakh. A fine of Rs 1,000 is levied on the driver for any external changes to the vehicle.

Accordingly, the action was taken against 908 bullet riders in the first 25 days. Even after that, the traffic police continued their crackdown. So far, the traffic police have taken action against 2,970 people.

The traffic police not only took action against the bullet riders but also issued notices to shopkeepers selling silencers illegally and garage owners who replaced silencers. The notice also warned of legal action if it was found selling or replacing the silencer illegally.  The action against the bullet riders will continue in the future, said the traffic police.
