Pimpri Chinchwad: Notice Issued to Municipal Employees Neglecting Responsibilities Towards Family
Pimpri, 1st July 2023: Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has taken action against four employees who have failed to fulfill their obligations towards their parents, mother-in-law, and in-laws despite obtaining jobs on compassionate grounds and through the Lad-Page program.
Over the past five years, a total of 444 employees have joined the municipal service, with 307 employed through the Lad-Page program and 137 through compassionate appointments. Sanitation workers in the health department often choose voluntary retirement a few years before their scheduled retirement to ensure convenience for their heirs. Eligible heirs are then provided with successor appointments on compassionate grounds, following recommendations from the Lad-Page Committee.
Before joining the municipal service, eligible heirs are required to submit a self-declared affidavit or bond to the administration, pledging to support and maintain their family.
Typically, the parents, mother-in-law, and father-in-law rely on the heir’s support until they secure a job. However, there have been instances where individuals have neglected their responsibilities after gaining employment. The administration has received multiple complaints from employees who took voluntary retirement, expressing concerns about their heirs’ lack of care. Consequently, the administration has taken action against four employees by issuing notices. If these employees fail to rectify their behavior, they have been warned that they may be dismissed from their municipal service positions based on their bond commitments.
Complaints regarding heirs neglecting their familial duties after securing employment continue to surface. To address these concerns, counseling sessions will be organized for the employees involved.
Mahadev Botre, a social worker from YCM Hospital, has been appointed to conduct these counseling sessions, aiming to resolve the issues at hand.
