Nigdi, 7th November 2023: Passengers travelling on the Nigdi-Dehu Gaon bus route in Talawade are facing significant inconvenience due to the insufficient number of buses and frequent delays. The lack of timely and available buses has prompted a demand from passengers for an increase in bus frequency.

Buses along the Nigdi-Dehu Gaon route are often heavily crowded, making the commute challenging for daily travellers. This route serves important locations like Talawade IT Park, Chakan MIDC, and the Dehu’s pilgrimage site. Additionally, it caters to a substantial number of students commuting to schools and colleges in Nigdi from Dehu.

Currently, only seven to eight buses are operating on this route, leading to a shortage of trips. Furthermore, the buses often experience delays caused by traffic congestion at various chowks, including Triveni Nagar Chowk, Ganesh Nagar Chowk, Jyotiba Chowk, Talawade Chowk, Canbay Chowk, and Khandelwal Chowk.

A recent change in departure location has added to the problem, as buses that previously left Sant Tukaram Vaikunthsthan Temple in Dehu Gaon now depart from the sports complex at the Government Reserved Site, which is approximately one and a half kilometres away. This change has disrupted the schedule, causing passengers to experience even longer wait times.

Passengers, including many students, are voicing their concerns and demanding that the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) administration take action. They are calling for an increase in the number of buses and more frequent departures, ideally, every ten to fifteen minutes, to ensure timely and reliable public transportation.

In light of these challenges, students are particularly affected, as delays in bus service can lead to tardiness and disruptions in their daily schedules, including attending lectures and returning home from college. The passengers are hopeful that their concerns will be addressed to improve the public transportation experience on the Nigdi-Dehu Gaon route.
