Pimpri Chinchwad: Man Arrested for Vandalizing Vehicles and Attempting to Injure Local Resident in Sangvi

Sangvi, 26th September 2024: The person responsible for the vandalism that occurred on Tuesday (24th September), has been arrested by Pimpri Chinchwad Police. He has been identified as Nihal, also known as Sonya Sanjay Pawar, 29, a resident of Phugewadi. Nikhil Sanjay Todkar, 31, a resident of Pimple Gurav, had filed a complaint at Sangvi Police Station.

The charges against the accused include sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 324 (4)(5) (mischief), 352 (intentional insult with the intent to provoke a breach of peace), along with relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act of 1951 and the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act of 2013.

According to police reports, Nihal Pawar was vandalizing vehicles with a wooden stick in Mayur Nagar, Pimple Gurav, on Tuesday night around 11:30 PM. During the incident, the complainant, Nikhil Todkar, observed the accused. Pawar deliberately threw the wooden stick towards Todkar, fully aware that if the stick hit Todkar’s head, it could cause severe injury or even death. Additionally, the accused vandalized seven vehicles in the area. Sangvi Police are investigating the case.
