Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th September 2024: Yesterday, similar to Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad also held the Ganesh Visarjan (immersion) procession throughout the city. The city resonated with chants of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudchya Varshi Lavkar Ya’ as residents bid farewell to their beloved Ganaraya until next year.

Although some parts of Pimpri Chinchwad observe the immersion procession on the seventh day, many people and public Mandals prefer to perform the immersion ceremony of Ganesh idols on Anant Chaturdashi, the day marking the end of Ganeshotsav.

As in previous years, the processions of public Ganesh Mandals began in the late afternoon and continued into the night. Crowds gathered along the roads in Pimpri Chinchwad to witness the celebrations and offer prayers at Bappa’s feet.

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, and others participated in the festivities, welcoming and celebrating with numerous Ganesh Mandals.

Each Ganesh Mandal featured a Dhol Tasha Pathak or artistic display highlighting the culture of Pimpri Chinchwad and Maharashtra. People bid farewell to Bappa, making wishes and believing with confidence that he will continue to watch over them and ensure their happiness.
