Pimpri Chinchwad: Advertising Agency Owner And Structural Engineer Booked In Moshi Hoarding Collapse Case

Pimpri Chinchwad, 16th May 2024: An FIR has been registered after a legal hoarding, authorized by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), collapsed onto a tempo during heavy rain and wind at Jaiganesh Empire Chowk on Spine Road, Moshi. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and only minor property damage was reported.

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh took to Twitter to address the incident, stating, “Today, a 20×40 feet legal hoarding with official permission at Jaiganesh Empire Chowk on Spine Road, Moshi, fell on a tempo due to rain and wind.” Singh further assured the public that immediate action was taken, with Joint Commissioner Chandrakant Indalkar and Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Khot instructed to inspect the site and report their findings.

A case has been filed against Mr. Gandhi of Aryan Advertising, the license holder of the hoarding, as well as the structural engineer who certified the design and structure. Singh emphasized the importance of public safety and announced plans for a meeting on Friday, May 17th, to discuss the safety of all hoardings in the city.

“To ensure the safety of all hoardings in the city, I have scheduled a meeting on Friday, May 17th. A structural audit of all hoardings is currently underway,” Singh tweeted. He also mentioned that a survey of unauthorized hoardings across the city has been initiated, with enforcement actions set to begin on Monday.

Singh reiterated PCMC’s commitment to public safety, stating, “Public safety remains our top priority, and we are committed to taking all necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.”

He highlighted PCMC’s proactive approach to addressing safety concerns related to hoardings, mentioning that over the past year, close to 191 unauthorized hoardings have been demolished as part of their safety initiatives.
