Pilots Reject Take-Off Post Brake-Hot Caution On Pune-Bengaluru Flight
New Delhi, 7th November 2022: After receiving a “brake hot” caution, the pilots of an AirAsia India Pune-Bengaluru flight (I5-1427) safely rejected takeoff at the origin on Sunday evening.
According to sources, the Airbus A320’s (VT-BKK) brake fan was operating under the minimum equipment list (MEL), which means it was to be repaired within a certain time frame but could be used in the meantime. The plane returned to the bay safely for inspection and repairs.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is investigating the situation. The pilots received a “brake hot ECAM caution” and safely aborted takeoff.
