Phoenix Mall Fire Update: No Injuries Reported, Fire Erupted At Closed Restaurant

Viman Nagar, 19th April 2024: At 03:30 pm today, the fire brigade swiftly responded to reports of a fire at Phoenix Mall, Ahmednagar Road. Five fire tenders, two water tankers, and a bronto were dispatched to the spot.

The fire erupted in a restaurant located on the mall’s third floor, emitting heavy smoke into the vicinity.

“The restaurant had been closed since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, the fire extinguisher within the mall was found to be up to date and fully operational.

Upon arrival, firemen promptly contained the blaze, averting potential catastrophe”, a fire brigade officer informed.

Presently, efforts are ongoing to fully extinguish the fire, alongside cooling operations. There were no reported injuries or fatalities, thanks to the rapid response of the fire brigade.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. Approximately 40 to 50 jawans and six fire officers, led by Devendra Potfode, fire brigade chief, are working to ensure the safety of the area.
