Philips Healthcare Innovation Center (HIC) introduces Intuis – A Made in India cath lab for India and growth markets

Pune, India – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) today announced the introduction of Philips Intuis, its latest innovation in image-guided therapy. Intuis is an advanced, entry level catheterization lab (cath lab) designed, developed and manufactured at the Philips Healthcare Innovation Center (HIC) in Pune, India.

The introduction of Intuis marks an important milestone in HIC’s role as a healthcare innovation and manufacturing center for India and other growth markets. Intuis is one of the cornerstones of Philips strategy for extending access to affordable cardiac care in tier-II and tier-III cities in India. The clinically versatile cath lab announced today is already available in India and will be launched in other growth geographies as well.

The Made in India Philips Intuis, with its state-of-the-art live image guidance technology will open up new possibilities in interventional procedures in India and empower interventional cardiologists and vascular specialists to decide, guide and confirm the right therapy for their patients in real-time.

Philips Intuis has been developed by a multi-disciplinary team at HIC and follows Philips’ DoseWise X-ray dose management philosophy. A wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures can be performed with the system, including cardiac, vascular and EP procedures, as well as ICD implants and non-vascular interventions. It enhances patient care by intelligent and intuitive integration of live imaging and real time therapy guidance.
