Pfizer Pushes For Vaccine Approval In India, Soon To Be Available For Children Over 12 Years

New Delhi, 27th May 2021: US drug major Pfizer has asked Indian authorities for early approval of its Corona vaccine in India, saying that its vaccine is highly effective against the corona variant spread in India and that it is also available to children over 12 years of age. Pfizer has said that its vaccine has shown to be very effective against the SARS-COV-2 variant spread in India and on the Indian people. This vaccine can be stored at a temperature of two to eight degrees for a month.

 

Pfizer is ready to deliver five crore doses of its vaccine to India from July to October 2021. Pfizer also presented the latest data regarding trials and approval of its vaccine effect by various countries and the World Health Organization (WHO) during a recent meeting with Indian officials.

 

A high source of Pfizer involved in talks with India said, ‘The current situation in India and the world is not normal. Pfizer has said that the Indian government should rely on approval from WHO, including 44 countries. It said the government should approve the emergency use of the vaccine and should not demand a post-approval commitment study.
