Pune, January 1, 2021: The people’s representative is not an owner, but a servant. The public is the owner, and the servant must report his work to the owner. Each representative should publicly audit their work as they are accountable to the people and the society and they should accept that responsibility,” Devendra Fadnavis, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly said while publishing a report on the work undertaken by Siddharth Shirole, MLA, Shivajinagar constituency during his one-year tenure in Pune today at Balgandharva Rang Mandir.

Dignitaries including Chandrakant Patil, State President of BJP Maharashtra, Murlidhar Mohol, Mayor of Pune, Sarswati Shendge, Deputy Mayor, Jagdish Mulik, Pune City President, BJP, Bhimrao Tapkir, MLA, Yogesh Tilekar, Ex. MLA, Hemant Rasane, Chairman of the Standing Committee, Ganesh Bidkar, Leader of house in PMC, Dheeraj Ghate, In-charge of BJP Pune, Corporators of Shivajinagar constituency including Neelima Khade, Jyotsna Ekbote, Swati Lokhande and Aditya Malve, BJP General Secretaries including Dattatray Khade, Rajesh Pande, Ravi Salegaonkar, Pratul Jagde, Ganesh Bagade and Anand Chhajed among others were present at the function. Fadnavis also felicitated Kartiki Hivarkar, the newly appointed First Vice President of Khadki Cantonment Board.

Fadnavis said, “Siddharth Shirole has done the work in regard to the BJP’s tradition of making the representatives aware of all their responsibilities toward the society. Being a servant of the people, the representative should be in the society, among the masses to answer all their questions as public service cannot be done sitting at home or in the office. We must reach out to those who need our help. I have seen such qualities in Siddharth. Nowadays, there is a new trend of ”hoarding leadership’, where any unknown layperson will put up a hoarding and call himself a leader of the masses.  But such kind of leadership is not encouraging. A true leader will stand out in times of challenges.”

Fadnavis also appreciated Shirole’s ideological point of view concerning the demolition of the bridge in front of Savitribai Phule Pune University. Shirole did not oppose the demolition of the bridge for development but had asked for an alternative for people’s convenience.

He also made an off-hand remark that while discussing issues with Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar the debate goes on and on but to no avail.

Chandrakant Patil said, “Publishing one’s work like this is a very ideal tradition, which makes it clear what one has done and how much is left to be done. Siddharth possesses such inquisitive character and through his ideological meetings and the persistent attitude, which is required to get the job done, it seems certain that the development will get a boost.”
