PCMC Commissioner Bans Direct Admissions At Auto Cluster Covid Hospital

Pimpri, 3rd May 2021: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner (PCMC) Rajesh Patil has banned direct admission of the patient to the Auto Cluster COVID hospital. Recently, it was revealed that the private organization, Fortune Sparsh Health Care, which operates the Auto CLuster Covid Hospital at Chinchwad had taken Rs 1 lakh for providing a ventilator bed to the patient.

All the expenses of this hospital are being borne by the PCMC. Yet a consultant of ‘Sparsh’ took Rs 1 lakh from the relatives of a headmistress of a municipal school to provide ICU bed in the hospital.

In this case, Sparsh’s Dr Praveen Jadhav as well as Dr Shashank Rale, and Dr Sachin Kasbe of Padmaja Hospital at Walhekarwadi have been arrested by Pimpri police station.

Considering the outbreak of the coronavirus, the municipal corporation granted permission to Sparsh healthcare to run the Covid hospital. But, complaints have been received from corporators, citizens regarding service to the patients.

The mayor had ordered the municipal administration to remove the work from Sparsh. Accordingly, the commissioner issued an order that corona infected patients from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area and other areas should not be admitted directly to the Auto Cluster hospital. Only the patients referred from Yashvatrao Chavhan Memorial Hospital (YCMH) Pimpri should be admitted.
