PCMC Appointed Company Detects 30,000 Unauthorised Constructions In Last Three Months
Pimpri, February 4, 2021: The survey of properties in the city has been going on for the last three months. The main purpose behind this is to find unauthorized properties and increase the income of the corporation through property tax.
About 30,000 unauthorized properties have been discovered in half of the city so far. There is a possibility of another 20,000 more unauthorized properties. However, the three-month contract of the agency has expired. It has been given another three-month extension.
The city has seen a large number of constructions during the lockdown period. However, the property owners have not registered them with the Municipal Tax Collection Department. These include new constructions, alterations to old, constructions etc. It has also been observed that the number of sheds is the highest. The concerned owners have not even sought the permission of the building permit department to carry out such constructions.
To find such income, the corporation had appointed Orion Solutions for ninety days, i.e. three months. They will be compensated on the basis of sharing revenue generated from the detection of illegal constructions.
Till date, they have discovered about thirty thousand properties. There is a possibility of another twenty thousand unauthorized income. Therefore, the Standing Committee meeting approved the issue of giving a three months extension to Orion Solutions.
