Pawan Singh becomes the first Indian to get elected on the Judges Committee of ISSF

Pune, December 3: Pawan Singh, Joint Secretary General of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), former Coach of the Indian Shooting Team and the Co-Founder of the Gun for Glory Shooting Academy has been elected as the member of the Judges Committee of the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF).

He got elected onto the 7 members Judges Committee for which 22 candidates from all over the world were in fray. Members of the administrative council of ISSF voted to select this committee during the elections held at Munich (Germany) yesterday. The ISSF elections happen every four years.

With this, Pawan Singh has become the first Indian to get elected on to this one of the most prestigious and important committees of ISSF. This is the second big news for Indian Shooting from Munich. Earlier Raninder Singh, President of NRAI became first Indian to become the Vice President of ISSF few days back.

The Judges Committee consists of a Chairman and 7 members. It is responsible for the uniform application of the shooting rules, provides guidelines for International Judges, prepares and conducts courses for judges and jury members, approves applications for Judge’s licences and proposes juries to the executive committee for championships and games. Committee meets at least once a year and reports to the administrative council.
