Maval, 24th August 2024: The Pavana Dam in Maval Taluka, which supplies water to Pimpri-Chinchwad, is currently 100% full. This development has resolved the year-long water concerns of the city’s residents. Heavy rainfall is ongoing in the dam’s catchment area, prompting the release of 3,500 cusecs of water from the dam.

Given the inflow, the dam began releasing 1,400 cusecs of water in the morning to manage storage levels. This increased release, which started at 2 PM today, has now reached 3,500 cusecs. Citizens are advised to stay away from the riverbed and move any water pumps, agricultural equipment, and animals from the riverbanks. The Pavana Dam Flood Control Room has urged residents in low-lying areas to take necessary precautions.
