Over 2.5 Lakh New Electricity Connection Provided in Last 1.5 Years In Pune Division
Pune 13th July 2023: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) has done remarkable job in providing new electricity connections in the Pune division as over 2.5 lakh new connections were given to the customers in the last 1.5 years. According to MSEDCL, 2,56,956 new connections were provided to customers in the last 1.5 years. This includes 1,95,986 connections provided in the last financial year while 60,970 new connections were provided between April and June this year.
The MSEDCL Chief Engineer has started holding review meeting twice a week to ensure the availability of new meters and new connections. This according to the officials has increased the speed of providing new connections to the customers. In the last 15 days, the MSEDCL has provided 14,866 new connections including 12,596 domestic, 1,636 commercial, 236 industrial, 255 agriculture and 142 other connections.
The average number of new connections issued in Pune division also reached its highest peak last year as around 1.5 lakh to 1.75 lakh connections are provided in the region every year while in the last financial year the number reached 1.95 lakh. This includes 1,63,166 domestic, 21,988 commercial, 3,645 industrial, 3,867 agriculture and 3,220 other connections. A total of 1,03,265 these connections were issued in Pune city, 71,280 connections were issued in Pimpri Chinchwad and 82,411 connections were issued in Pune rural in the last 1.5 year.
