Over 2.4 Lakh Students Compete for 1.08 Lakh RTE Seats in Maharashtra; Results on 12th June

Pune, 8th June 2024: The draw for admission to the 25% reserved seats in private schools under the Right to Education Act (RTE) was held on Friday (7th June). However, due to a court case, the selection list of the students will be announced after 12th June.

 

In the presence of the Education Commissioner of Maharashtra, Suraj Mandhare, the Director of Primary Education, Sharad Gosavi, and the Director of Secondary Education, Sampat Suryavanshi, the RTE admissions lottery was conducted by the students. The program took place in the auditorium of the Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training in Pune. The Ministry of School Education is overseeing the RTE admission process for the academic year 2024-25. There are 1,08,216 seats available in 9,208 schools across Maharashtra State, with 2,43,104 students applying. Podar International School in Ambegaon, Pune district, received the highest number of applications, totaling 2,217.

 

The list of students selected by lottery will be released after 12th June, pending the court’s decision. Selected students will receive SMS notifications. Admission will be confirmed after document verification by the committee at the taluka level.
