Pune, February 4, 2021: Over 1.88 lakh seats have remained vacant in the seven divisions across the State for class 11 admission. Although, the percentage of vacant seats this year is less than last year, the Centralised Admission Process committee (CAP) has decided to have one more round of admissions giving last chance to the students for the admission.

CAP is implemented in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nashik, Mumbai, Amravati, Aurangabad and Nagpur for class 11 admissions. The entire process this year was online. Still after the stipulated rounds and special rounds, First come, First Serve round too was implemented. Accordingly, the students were given deadline of January 31 to take the admission through this round.

This year 5, 58, 830 lakh students participated in CAP of which students took admissions into 3,69, 871 seats while remaining 1,88,959 seats remained vacant.

Last year 1.94 lakh seats remained vacant. The admission process was delayed due to Corona pandemic and the Maratha reservation issues. Every year the CAP gets over by October, but this year although we are in February, still the admissions are taking place.

The parents and students, however, are worried about the completion of the syllabus for class 11 and getting ready for class 12th board exam as well as various entrance tests that take place after 12th board examination.
