OUTBREAK OF FIRE AT BELLANDUR LAKE AREA

BENGALURU, JANUARY 19, 2018 – There was an outbreak of fire at Bellandur Lake area around 12 noon. This started spreading towards the Army Area. The fire which had come up to the perimeter of the Army location has been put out due to the untiring efforts of more than 5000 army personnel and fire fighting equipments of the ASC College and Centre .The fire on the lake is still on as at 7.25 PM at two places. Army personnel are still alert to prevent its spread into army and adjoining civil area.
The 5000 Army personnel was led by Major General NS Rajpurohit, Deputy Commandant and chief instructor, ASC College and Centre.
This immediate action resulted in effectively containing the fire and prevented it from spreading it to the civilian pockets of Bengaluru city . Subsequently , water bowsers from nearby civil area also reached and assisted in controlling the fire.
