‘Only five percent police made the department infamous’

Pimpri, January 2, 2021: Nearly 95% of the police department is hardworking and sincere but because of only five percent, the entire department has gained a bad reputation, said Pimpri Chinchwad Police commissioner Krishna Prakash. He also praised the sincere and honest policemen on the occasion.

He was speaking at an event Thet-Bhet held at Chinchwad recently. DCP Manchak Ippar, assistant commissioner Dr Sagar Kavade, Chinchwad police station senior inspector Sudhakar Kate, Police inspector (crime) Vishwajeet Khule were also present.

While replying to a question by a young lady that police asked for money to find the missing person Krishna Prakash said, “because of five percent police, the entire department has become infamous. The issue of digitalization of police stations too came up.”

He said that the commissionerate is new and has lots of problems, but within the next six months, the police stations will be digitized. The police department will be active on social media too, he said.

Illegal parking, encroachment on foot-paths and many other issues were discussed.
