Online Scam Alert: Rs 16 Lakh Cheated On Telegram, Two Cases Under Investigation By Pune Police
Wagholi, 2nd May 2023: Pune police have registered a case of fraud against four individuals for allegedly cheating a man out of Rs 8.56 lakh on Telegram.
The victim, Nilesh Mohanlal Bangrecha (45), filed a complaint with Lonikand Police Station after the accused, identified as Riya Shukla, Pranjal Singhal, Manvi Goyal, and Avantika Guleria, duped him into completing online tasks in exchange for payment.
The four accused reportedly promised Bangrecha different plans and tricked him into transferring funds to multiple accounts. Despite paying the requested amount, Bangrecha received no refund, leading him to file the complaint.
Another case of fraud on Telegram has also come to light, with a second victim being cheated out of Rs 7.5 lakh. Pune police are currently investigating both cases to track down the accused and bring them to justice.
