Mumbai, 1st August 2023: OMG 2, featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, has been making headlines ever since it was sent for review by the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC). Just ten days before its scheduled release, it has now been confirmed that the Amit Rai-directed film has received an ‘A – Adults Only’ certificate from the censor board.

According to Pinkvilla’s report, the CBFC has suggested ‘no cuts’ but rather some modifications for OMG 2. After thorough discussions, the film has been approved without any cuts, but certain scenes, dialogues, and characters have been tweaked based on discussions with the censor board members, as stated by an insider from the entertainment portal.

Despite the initial intention of the makers to obtain a U/A certificate, they later realized that achieving it would involve numerous cuts. Consequently, they decided to respect the modifications recommended by the CBFC and proceed with the ‘A’ certificate.

Rumours about a possible delay in the film’s release have been circulating, but the insider clarified that OMG 2’s release will proceed as planned on August 11. The makers are now gearing up for an aggressive marketing campaign, and the film’s trailer is expected to be released on August 3.

OMG 2 is a sequel to the 2012 movie OMG, which also starred Akshay Kumar. However, this time, Paresh Rawal, who was part of the original film, will not be reprising his role in the sequel. Instead, Pankaj Tripathi has joined the franchise, and Yami Gautam plays a key role in the movie. While it is rumoured that OMG 2 revolves around sex education, there has been no official confirmation regarding this.

The film is set to clash at the box office with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Rajinikanth starrer Jailer, as all three films are scheduled to release on August 11.
