Ola Electric To Launch Electric Bikes In 2025: All You Need To Know
Pune, 19th June 2024: Ola Electric, a leading manufacturer of electric scooters in India, is set to expand its product line by launching electric bikes. The company has announced that it will introduce four new electric bike models between April 2025 and September 2025. This decision comes amid a rising demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in the country. Ola’s new offerings include the Diamondhead, Adventure, Roadster, and Cruiser models. Initially showcased in August 2023, these bikes were supposed to launch in 2024 but were delayed due to unforeseen reasons.
According to reports, the timeline for the bike launches was detailed in Ola Electric’s Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP), a document required by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) before an Initial Public Offering (IPO). The DRHP reveals that the company aims to start deliveries by fiscal year 2026. This move is expected to solidify Ola’s position in the competitive EV market.
Ola first introduced its electric bike lineup on August 15, 2023, showcasing the models with attractive designs and innovative features. Despite the initial plan to launch in 2024, the company postponed the release to ensure the production versions met high standards. The Diamondhead, Adventure, Roadster, and Cruiser bikes are anticipated to include features not yet available in existing electric bikes.
Ola Electric is already a major player in the electric vehicle segment, particularly known for its electric scooters. The company sold over 37,000 units last month alone, cementing its place as a top contender in the market. The introduction of electric bikes is expected to further boost Ola’s sales and market presence.
Rashmi Govil, Director (HR) of Indian Oil, highlighted the potential of these new electric bikes in transforming the market. “Ola’s entry into the electric bike segment is a significant step towards promoting sustainable transportation solutions,” she said.
With the launch of these electric bikes, Ola aims to cater to the growing demand for eco-friendly and innovative transportation options in India.
