Ola celebrates International Yoga Day with free yoga session for Driver Partners

Pune, June 21, 2017: Ola, India’s most popular mobile app for transportation, practices Yoga with their driver partners to celebrate International Yoga Day. The free Yoga session held for driver partners in Pune addressed health-related concerns resulting from driving for long durations. The day-long session was organised in partnership with a renowned Yoga trainer, and saw participation from over tens of hundreds of driver partners and their families.

The session involved asanas and exercises such as gentle neck stretches and arm exercises to improve body posture tackle joint pains, emphasising on basic Yoga techniques which they can practice on a regular basis in order to drive comfortably. In addition to this, an hour-long stress management session was also conducted by Prachi Deshpande, a famous yoga trainer in the city.

Speaking on the initiative Kiran Brahma Associate Director at Ola said, “At Ola, we are committed towards building a strong community of driver partners, initiatives such as these are aimed at their holistic growth and wellbeing. Driver partners are our brand ambassadors, it is important for them to be alert, energised, and fresh, and pass on the same spirit to their customers. Yoga is a great source of building mental and physical health, and we are certain that making the practise a part of life will truly make a difference for our driver partners.”

Over the last few years, Ola has introduced several financial and social initiatives for the driver partner community, including loan melas, health check-ups, educational loans, and family support initiatives among others.
