Odia Cultural Event in Pune Witnesses Enthusiastic Gathering of 1,000+ Attendees

Pune, 21st October 2024: The Odia community in Pune came together for a grand cultural celebration organized by the Odia Sanskrutika Parishad Foundation on Saturday, drawing an impressive crowd of over 1,000 people.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Pradeep Kand as the Special Guest, Ramdas Dabhade as the Guest of Honour, Sulochana Das, Mayor of Bhubaneswar, as the Chief Speaker, and Tusharkanti Behera, former Home and IT Minister of Odisha, as the Chief Guest.

The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and an offering of flowers to Lord Jagannath, setting a spiritual tone for the evening. Entertainment highlights included performances by Odia comedian Raju Das, popular singers Kumar Janu and Pragati Sethi, and dancer Amrita Patnaik. A special Odissi dance performance by the troupe led by Mani Behera from Dhruv Global School, Pune, also captivated the audience.

Odisha’s beloved snack, Dahi Bara Allu Dum, and a sumptuous Odia dinner were the culinary highlights of the evening, adding to the cultural flavor of the event.

The gathering was organized by an energetic group of young Odias, including Susmita Mahapatra, Monalisa Mishra, Susanjita Ray, Sasmita Patnaik, Jayaprada Biswal, Pragyan Das, Swagatika Dwibedi, and others. The event concluded with vibrant music, lights, and a spectacular display of fireworks, serving as a testament to the strong cultural bonds shared by Odias living outside their home state.
