Nrityaswad to present ‘Purush’, a themed dance program

Pune, November 21st: Pune based ‘Kalavardhini Charitable Trust’ which primarily works in the field of performing and allied Indian arts is organizing a unique dance program titled as ‘Purusha – a dance of cosmic being’under its initiative ‘Nrityaswad’. As the name suggests, ‘Purusha’ is a theme based dance program which will feature Solo classical dance forms by Male Dancers. The program will take place at 6.00pm on Sunday, November 27th at Kalachhaya, Patrakar Nagar, Senapati Bapat Road, Pune. The tickets for the same will be available at the venue one hour prior to the program.

‘Purusha’ will feature young talent showcasing two breath taking dance performances. First will be Bharatnatyam performance by Sachhidanand Narayankar, a disciple of renowned Vaibhav Arekar and second will be Odissi performance by Ankur Ballal, a disciple of noted Zelam Paranjape. A documentary film on legendary Padma Vibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra would also be screened during this program. Head of Kalachaya, Guru Prabha Marathe will be felicitated on the occasion of her 80th birthday on this evening.

‘Nrityaswad’ is a tri-monthly series organized by ‘Kalavardhini Charitable Trust’as a part of its continuous endeavor to propagate and preserve Indian Classical Dance.‘Purush’ will be its last event under this initiative.
