Now No Medical Certificate Required for Migrant Workers, Stranded Persons Traveling in Groups

Pune, May 7, 2020: The Maharshtra government has amended it’s previous order and made it clear that migrant workers, stranded persons do not need prior medical certificate instead they will screened at the time of travel.

Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta, in his capacity as Chairperson, State Executive Committee, issued the order to amend earlier order of April 30 and include the following for the strict implementation by the concerned authorities in the State of Maharashtra:

A provision of requirement of a registered medical practitioner in para 2 of the order dated 1 May 2020 is deleted. The migrants/stranded persons desirous of travelling to home state should be screened at the time of starting of journey, by use of digital thermometer and symptomatic examination. This be done free of cost through Medical Officers of Government/Municipal Corporations or by hiring the services of registered medical practitioners by the Municipal Corporations.

A single list of all passengers indicating that they have been screened and found to be not displaying any influenza like illness (ILI) be issued by the Medical person in-charge. There will be no need for individual certificates and a certification of passengers manifest shall suffice.”

After the central government allowed inter state and inter district movement of migrant workers, stranded students, pilgrims and other persons, Maharashtra government has asked people to register themselves on the website covid19.mhpolice.in either for individual or group travel. Many people who have own vehicle or hired vehicle have registered on the website by uploading their photo, Aadhar card and medical certificate by filling the online form. If more than 5 people are traveling then they have to write down the details of group members and then group can upload the list and his/her details on the website. The list has to be made district wise as the same will be sent to concerned Collector of the District where people want to travel.

A group of 310 workers under Bibvewadi police station were sent to Rajasthan yesterday night.
