Now CCTV Cameras To Keep A Watch On Pune-Mumbai Expressway For Action Against Traffic Rule Violators

Lonavala, February 7, 2021: The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will soon install 200 CCTV cameras on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.  It will help to take necessary action against those who break traffic rules, Highway Police officials said.

The cameras will be installed between Kiwale to Kalamboli. People who break the rules like speed limits, seat belt, lane cutting will be observed with the help of these cameras and strict action will be taken by police against them. It will also help to provide proof for the violations, said Rakesh Sonawane, executive engineer, MSRDC.

Earlier, various efforts had been made to ensure the security of the people driving on these roads. It includes majors like drone surveillance, speed gun, increase in fine and special observation team of the police department on various important spots identified by the department.

The number of people breaking the rule is still higher and it leads to serious accidents. Therefore various efforts have been taken by the authorities for the safety of the people.
