Now 12 Digit Aadhar Card For Domestic Animals
Pune, October 9, 2020: In what could be an interesting move, the National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP) identity cards will be issued for domestic animals. Accordingly, the veterinary department has undertaken the work to issue the cards to nearly 10 lakh animals from Pune district.
A 12 number card will be issued for the animals including cows, buffaloes and oxen among others. Under the NADCP animals are vaccinated and to be given the badges. The data will be uploaded on Inaaf which will be available on the internet.
Ambegaon block development officer Jalindar Pathare said that so far the work for 55,000 animals has been completed. Veterinary doctor Atul Chikhale said, “the information regarding age, breed, tail, horns, vaccination given and other will be fed.”
Why it is necessary to register the animals
* No trade of the animals will take place that does not have the badges
* If the animal dies of natural disaster or due to electric current, no compensation will be given if it is not registered
* While taking a loan from the bank if the badge is not there, will not be given loan
* Online registration of the animals
