Pune, 7th August 2023: Maintenance and repair work initially scheduled for the Parvati Substation by the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) prompted the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to announce a temporary water supply interruption on Thursday (10th August).

This was expected to affect the water availability in areas falling under Parvati Water Centre (Old and New), Lashkar Water Centre, SNDT Pumping, and Vadgaon Water Centre. However, a subsequent decision has been reached to rescind the planned water shutdown on Thursday.

The intended repair work, set to be executed by MSETCL on Thursday, necessitated an electricity supply halt. Consequently, this would have resulted in the temporary suspension of electricity supply to the municipal water treatment facilities. In response, the Municipal Corporation initially opted to curtail the water supply to the entire city, barring a few select areas.

Following complaints from concerned citizens relayed to Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, discussions with the Municipal Commissioner prompted the decision to reverse the water supply interruption. Additionally, MSETCL has confirmed the continuity of power supply.
