Pune/Solapur, 2nd January 2024: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a pressing appeal to address unauthorized encroachments and unlicensed constructions along Pune-Solapur National Highway No. 65. The NHAI has urged individuals responsible for these encroachments to remove them within seven days at their own expense.

Observations indicate unauthorized encroachment by adjacent landholders between km 8 and km 252.350 within the Pune-Solapur National Highway’s jurisdiction under the National Highways Authority of India Pune. These encroachments are impeding the planned expansion of National Highway No. 65.

Project Director Sanjay Kadam has emphasized the urgency of removing unauthorized encroachments and constructions along this stretch. Failure to comply within the specified seven-day period will result in the authority taking necessary actions under the Control of National Highways (Land and Traffic) Act, 2002.

The NHAI will proceed with eviction measures on behalf of the authority, and the costs and penalties incurred during this process will be recovered from the individuals responsible for the encroachments. This appeal is part of the NHAI’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and functionality of national highways, ensuring safe and efficient transportation for all users.

Affected parties are urged to cooperate with the NHAI and adhere to the removal directive to avoid legal consequences and to support the ongoing development and expansion of the Pune-Solapur National Highway.
