New Vehicle Registration In Pune Increased To 2.55 Lakh Last Year Compared To 1.69 Lakh Reported In 2021 : PMC
Pune 26th July 2023: The increasing number of vehicles in the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has already started impacting the pollution in the city. The PMC officials in the latest release has claimed that 2,55,757 new vehicles have been registered in the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation last year.
This has increased the registered vehicle population in Pune to 35,94,132. According to official data, 1,69,552 new vehicles were registered in 2021.
The official data also claims that Hadapsar and Shivajinagar areas have recorded more air pollution last year. “PM 10 and PM 2.5 count in Hadapsar and Shivajinagar areas was recorded highest compared to other areas in the city” the official release stated.
