New Shirwade-Karad-Shenoli Double Line Set to Enhance Pune Division Rail Connectivity

Pune, 22nd October 2024: The Pune-Miraj doubling project, spanning 280 kilometers, is nearing completion, with 230 kilometers already commissioned. On 23rd October 2024, a significant milestone will be achieved as the 22-kilometer section between Shirwade and Karad-Shenoli is set to be commissioned.

Manoj Arora, Commissioner of Railway Safety for the Central Circle, will conduct an inspection of the newly completed section. The inspection will begin at 9:00 AM and conclude around 4:00 PM, involving a motor trolley inspection from Shenoli to Shirwade.

Following the inspection, a speed trial will be conducted at 130 km/h from Shirwade to Shenoli. After ensuring satisfactory compliance with all safety features, the Commissioner of Railway Safety will authorize the opening of this section for passenger traffic.

Accompanying Arora during the inspection will be Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) of Central Railway, Avanish Pandey, and Pune’s Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Indu Dubey, along with officials from the construction organization of Central Railway and the Pune Division.

As trains are scheduled to start operating on the new down line from 23rd October 2024, residents in the area are advised to exercise caution and stay away from the railway tracks for their safety.
