New Leadership in Rajasthan: Bhajanlal Sharma Selected as Chief Minister

Jaipur, 12th December 2023: In a significant development, Bhajanlal Sharma has been nominated as the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan. The decision was finalized during the BJP Legislature Party meeting where Sharma’s name received unanimous approval. Bhajanlal Sharma, an MLA from Sanganer and the General Secretary of BJP in Rajasthan, is set to assume the role of Chief Minister.

Bhajanlal Sharma hails from Bharatpur and secured a victory in the Sanganer Assembly seat in Jaipur during the recent elections. With a father named Krishna Swaroop Sharma, Bhajanlal Sharma, aged 56, brings a wealth of political experience to the position.

This marks Bhajanlal Sharma’s first term as an MLA, securing victory in the Sanganer constituency by defeating the Congress candidate Pushpendra Bhardwaj with a margin of over 48,000 votes. Known for his proximity to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Sharma holds the position of General Secretary in the BJP Rajasthan.

Sharma holds a Master’s degree in Political Science, having completed his education at Rajasthan University in Jaipur.

Declared a millionaire, Bhajan Lal Sharma’s assets are valued at Rs 1,46,56,666, with a liability of Rs 35 lakh. His financial portfolio includes Rs 1,15,000 in cash and approximately Rs 11 lakh in various bank accounts.

In addition to Bhajan Lal Sharma’s appointment as Chief Minister, the state of Rajasthan will have two Deputy Chief Ministers—Diya Kumari and Dr Premchand Bairwa. The announcement follows prolonged discussions on the leadership in Rajasthan, culminating in a resolution on Tuesday evening.
