NEET UG Counselling 2024: Top Medical Institutes Where Top Rankers Will Get Admission

Pune, 2nd July 2024: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling process for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in institutions across India will commence on 6th July 2024. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results of the NEET UG re-test, and now, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will start the counselling process. Candidates who secured top ranks in the NEET UG can participate in the counselling to secure admission in the country’s top medical institutes. Registration is mandatory for candidates to participate, and seats will be allocated based on their rank, after which they must confirm their admission within the given timelines.

Top Medical Institutes in India

Aspiring doctors often dream of studying at the country’s top medical colleges. Every year, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) releases a list of the top medical institutions. According to NIRF, the top medical institutes in India are:
1. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi
2. Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh
3. Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu
4. National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Karnataka
5. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
6. Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

Admission via AIQ and State Quota

Candidates should note that the counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats will begin on 6th July. Under AIQ, admission will be given to all seats in All India Quota, deemed universities, central universities, ESIC (Employees’ State Insurance Corporation), and AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College), including seats in Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). In addition, 85% of the remaining seats will be filled under the state quota. State quota counselling will be organized by the respective state consultation authorities or committees. Candidates securing a place in AIQ should ensure timely registration and follow the seat allocation and admission guidelines.
