NEET PG 2024 Exam Likely In August, New Date Expected Soon

Pune, 3rd July 2024: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2024 is likely to be held in mid-August, with the new date expected to be announced this week. A meeting on Monday at the Ministry of Home Affairs included officials from the Ministry of Health, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and the Cyber Cell, discussing preparations for the exam. The Ministry of Health had previously postponed the NEET-PG exam, which was initially scheduled for June 23, as a precautionary measure.

The Ministry of Health decided to postpone the exam in light of allegations regarding the integrity of certain competitive exams. In the meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs, discussions focused on ensuring robust preparations for the NEET-PG exam, which will be conducted online. A source disclosed that the meeting also reviewed the system for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, set for July 6, aiming to ensure its robustness.

During the meeting, officials from the Ministry of Health, NBEMS, TCS, and the Cyber Cell evaluated the technical and administrative readiness for the upcoming NEET-PG exam. The Ministry of Health emphasized the need for a reliable and secure examination process, collaborating closely with NBEMS and TCS. The health ministry had initially postponed the exam on June 22, citing the need to address security concerns and maintain the integrity of the examination process.

The source further revealed that the NEET-PG 2024, crucial for admissions to postgraduate courses in medical colleges, is expected to take place in mid-August. The announcement of the new date is anticipated this week, providing clarity for the numerous aspiring medical students.
