NCC Cadets of Maharashtra Return to Pune After Winning the Prestigious Prime Minister’s Banner for the Third Time in a Row

Shivajinagar, 4th February 2024: In a month-long series of competitions held in conjunction with the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi, the NCC Directorate of Maharashtra secured the overall championship, clinching the prestigious Prime Minister’s banner for the third consecutive time.

 

 

The 122-member National Cadet Corps (NCC) contingent from Maharashtra, which participated in the Republic Day Parade 2024, returned to Pune on Saturday. Brigadier Arjun Mitra warmly welcomed the victorious contingent at the NCC Group HQ.

 

Competing in a variety of events such as Drill, Cultural, Guard of Honor, Flag Area, Aeromodelling, Ship Modelling, PM rally, Best Cadet Competition, Equestrian, and more, teams from all 28 states displayed their skills. After a year of dedicated training and unwavering determination, the Maharashtra Cadets delivered outstanding performances, securing the top position.

 

Notably, 23 Girl Cadets from Maharashtra marched on Kartavya Path alongside the Armed Forces Contingent during the Republic Day Parade. In addition to claiming the Prime Minister’s banner and various trophies, individual Cadets received recognition and awards for their exceptional achievements.

– Cadet Shrusti More: Silver Medal and Second-Best Cadet Naval Wing

– Cadet Preetilatha Sahoo: Silver Medal and Second-Best Cadet Air Wing

– Cadet Tejas Kamble: Bronze Medal Army Wing

– Cadet Shravya Pallachikal: Bronze Medal Army Wing

– Cadet Nachiket Meshram: DG Commendation Card

– Cadet Preetilatha Sahoo: DG Commendation Card

– Cadet Pranita More: DG Medallion

– ANO Yashodini Kulkarni: DG Medallion

– GCI Reeitha Khadangale: DG Medallion

– Mr. Suresh Jadhav: DG Medallion

– Cadet Mandeep Singh: Best in Tent Pegging – Gold

 

Apart from the Delhi events, marks are also allocated for performances in the Thal Sainik, Vayu Sainik, and Nao Sainik Camps, as well as accomplishments in Flying and the number of Cadets joining the Armed Forces in the calendar year.
