Nagpur-Pune Flight Pilot Collapses On Boarding Gate, Declared Dead At Hospital
Pune 17th August 2023: In a tragic incident reported at the Nagpur Airport on Thursday morning, an Indigo pilot who was scheduled to take off Nagpur-Pune flight died moments before the flight schedule after he collapsed on the boarding gate. The Pilot was rushed to near hospital for the treatment after he collapsed but the doctors declared him dead.
According to DGCA officials, the pilot operated two sectors on Wednesday including Trivandrum-Pune-Nagpur between 3 am and 7 am and he had 27 hours of rest. He was scheduled to fly four sectors today with departure scheduled at 1 pm and the Nagpur-Pune flight was his first flight for the day.
“We are saddened at the passing of one of our pilots in Nagpur earlier today. He took unwell at Nagpur airport and was rushed to the hospital where he unfortunately passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones,” Indigo said in a statement.
