Musical Journey Through Pune Metro: Accordionists Perform Nostalgic Hindi Songs

Pune, 2nd May 2023: On May 6, in celebration of World Accordion Day, four notable accordionists will be playing nostalgic Hindi songs inside the Pune Metro as part of the “Accordion on Wheels” program under the “Celebration on Wheels” initiative of Pune Metro. Hemant Urdhwareshe, an accordionist and the program convenor, along with Chandu Kale and Ram Aswani, will perform inside the metro and at the metro station, with senior and renowned accordionist Anil Gode as the Guest of Honour, also joining in on the performance.

This will be the first time the four accordionists will perform inside the Pune Metro. The performance will commence at the Concourse of the Vanaz Metro Station and continue inside the Metro until the Garware Metro Station, with songs being played again on the return journey to the Vanaz Metro Station. Additionally, the group will perform a joint performance and a Marathi train-related song as a tribute to the Metro. The 90-minute program does not require a separate ticket; one simply needs to buy a metro ticket to be part of this unique celebration of World Accordion Day.
