The atmosphere was electric as the revered national team captain, Rohit Sharma, stepped onto the field. Despite attempting to address the crowd, his words were drowned out by thunderous cheers and applause, highlighting both his popularity and the euphoria surrounding the team’s triumph.

“Mumbai has always been incredible. The reception we received was overwhelming. On behalf of the team, I want to express our gratitude to the fans. I am immensely happy and relieved,” Rohit Sharma remarked at Wankhede Stadium. During the ceremony, Rohit also lauded his teammate Hardik Pandya, triggering chants of “Hardik, Hardik” from the enthusiastic crowd. A visibly touched Hardik acknowledged the cheers, adding to the emotional and celebratory ambience at Wankhede.

Amidst the festivities, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube captivated the audience with their spirited dance moves, leading the team in an impromptu celebration. The Indian players, thoroughly enjoying the moment, enthusiastically joined in as they entered the stadium for their grand felicitation ceremony.

The celebrations spilt over beyond the stadium, with thousands flocking to Mumbai’s Marine Drive, transforming it into a sea of blue.
